The Taylor Seminary Students’ Association is pleased to present the Canadian premiere of director Gary Wheeler’s latest film. The Trial, based on a Robert Whitlow novel, has been in limited theatrical release in the United States, earning rave reviews. In advance of its DVD release on November 9, the TSSA welcomes you to join us for a special movie event, featuring a Q & A with Brad Mix, one of the executive producers of the film.
Following the death of his wife and sons, small-town lawyer "Mac" McClain (Matthew Modine) has lost the will to live, but he sets aside despair to defend young Pete Thomason (Randy Wayne) in a high-stakes case involving first-degree murder. In this courtroom drama that finds Pete accused of killing his girlfriend, unyielding prosecutor Joe Whetstone (Bob Gunton) seeks the death penalty, and McClain pursues redemption for the boy and for himself.
Join us for this exceptional new film, and stay for a discussion of Christian films, led by Tim Willson. Admission is free, brought to you by the students of Taylor Seminary.
